Laurie Heavner is the Chief People Officer at American Tire Distributors (ATD) where she leads the human resources, total rewards, HR practitioners, and the learning & development team with a deep belief that people are the heart of any successful organization.  

 

With deep expertise in associate relations, Heavner is passionate about making people strategies a catalyst for business success. She ensures that HR initiatives not only reflect but accelerate the company’s purpose, vision, and values. From building high-performing teams to maximizing organizational effectiveness, she has a proven track record of placing the right talent in the right roles at the right time.  

 

Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping a culture where people thrive and business goals are met with clarity and purpose. Whether she’s mentoring future leaders or designing workforce strategies, she brings a thoughtful, people-first approach to everything she does. 

 

Heavner joined ATD in 1990 and learned all aspects of the HR and Legal functions. Most recently she served as SVP Human Resources, where she led HR operations to drive business performance. Her 35-year tenure with ATD is testament to the vast importance of our dedicated associates and will continue to build on our proud culture and legacy of success.
